Alocasia reginula ‘Black Velvet’ is a small species of Alocasia that grows well as a house plant or in a terrarium/vivarium set up as it stays compact, is relatively slow-growing and thrives on the extra humidity. It is easy to see why this beauty is called ‘Black Velvet’ with its soft, thick, dark foliage it is a real eye-catcher. The black leaves are offset with light green – platinum silver veins providing a pleasing contrast.
Light: Bright, indirect light. Avoid direct sun.
Water: Allow top of soil to dry a little between watering. Prefers a little extra humidity and a little less water than most larger Alocasia.
