Trachycarpus fortunei (Windmill Palm) 10.5cm Pot, Height 30cm
€10.99 “Price excl. VAT: €9.68”
Trachycarpus fortunei (common names: Chusan palm, windmill palm or Nepalese fan palm) is a hardy evergreen palm with large, fan-shaped dark green leaves. Mature plants produce clusters of yellow flowers in summer, with female plants developing blue-black fruits when pollinated.
With its exotic appearance, this palm is ideal for tropical-style planting schemes, urban gardens, courtyards and containers. Grow it in moist but well-drained soil in full sun to partial shade, preferably in a sheltered spot away from strong winds. One of the hardiest palms, it tolerates frost well but may need protection during prolonged cold spells, especially when young or container-grown.
